RTK trade unions warn protests from Tuesday for “serious financial situation”

The three public media unions, the RTK Workers' Union, RTK's Independent Union and Radio Kosovo Union Association have held an emergency meeting today, where they said it has been discussed over the serious financial situation created in the public media.

The three unions have unanimously agreed to start with protests from Tuesday, starting at 12: 00 p.m. in front of the RTK building on TV”. Unions seek responsibility from the Board and Management for neglect to the present, who have had more than two weeks to solve this problem”, it said in their announcement.

The trade unions said that non-realisation of salaries enables workers to meet basic vital needs, including food, transport and daily family obligations.

“under these circumstances, no one can ask for responsibility, performance and professional commitment from workers, while the institution fails to fulfill its most fundamental obligation to them. For SPRTK, SPEPRTK and SSF, it is unacceptable that a public institution of particular importance for informing citizens of face financial uncertainty that questions the payment of his workers. Workers cannot and will not bear the burden of managerial failures, wrong decisions or consequences of processes for which they have no responsibility”.
