The LDK wants the Presidency: Obadiah or Haziri

So he said about Radio Free EuropeLDK deputy chairman Lutfi Haziri.

According to him, LDK votes can be unified if the president's name emerges from the LDK ranks and not beyond this party.

In the June 7th elections, the LDK competed with the names of Vjosa Osman as presidential and Lumir Abdixhik's candidate for prime minister.

This party secured 18 seats in the Kosovo Assembly, but according to Haziri, for Osman's name, the LDK will not be able to secure the support of all its deputies.

The “could be like the last time, so two-three votes can be divided, but in the case of Lumir or my case, we can unifiate”, Haziri explained.

Osmani earlier stated that her name “was not, nor would it become an obstacle to the creation of the” institutions.

Haziri stressed that the LDK currently “has only a key address”, which can be directed by the Vetevendosje Movement, for any eventual agreement.

“Only with Lumir Abdixhiku. He's the mayor. We have not collected the [LDK] Assembly. If the Assembly meets or there's an act of resignation, we have a new situation. Until then, there is only one address and there is no second address”, Haziri told Radio Free Europe.

That is his response to the statements by Donika Grovall, incumbent Justice Minister at the Government of Albin Kurti, LVV chairman.

Gerillas in an interview for local television KTV, commenting on developments within the LDK, said within it “are several different currents”.

According to her, the LVV has trouble talking to the LDK, because “we don't know which stream you're talking to”, about any eventual agreement on the consolidation of the country's institutions, following the June 7th elections.

I am asking that whoever potentially sits down to negotiate with us, be also the person representing this party. We cannot sit with five different people in LDK. Because if the LDK wants to be a factor in electing the president, then they should also guarantee the votes of their own parliamentary group”, Gervala stressed.

On the other hand, LDK deputy chairman Haziri explained that so far at the address of LDK “has not come from LVV any invitation” to negotiate any eventual agreements.

According to him, if such an invitation reaches the party's address, it will examine the LDK's organs and decision-making will be internal depending on what LV's offer will be.

The June 7th early elections were held after the preliminary legislature failed to vote a new president within the constitutional deadline, after Vjosa Osmani expired with a five-year term in April.
