Chief NATO: Good news to reduce troop presence in Kosovo

Secretary - General NATO, Mark Rutte, has called good news the fact that NATO will reduce its presence in Kosovo as a result of improved security situation.
A few days earlier, “optimization” of KFOR's mission had also warned NATO forces commander for Europe, US General Alexus Grinkewich, Koha.net reports, broadcast Periscope.
Rutte spoke to reporters in Brussels on Wednesday on the eve of the Alliance defence ministers' meeting.
When we look at the security situation in Kosovo, what we see is that in general last year it continued to improve. That is why it is good news for Kosovo. And that is why NATO in January interrupted the dislocation of the reserve forces in Kosovo. And this was done after two years of constant rotation”, Mark Rutte.
Further the boss of NATO said it is constantly being seen how to fix KFOR's presence.
Looking forward at this moment, we see that KFOR has a force of about 4700 troops. What we're going to do is get back into the presence we had before 2023. Of course, this will depend on the circumstances and we will see that KFOR will have between 3,000 and 3,500 troops. This, I think, reflects the improved security situation”, Rutte said by repeating that KFOR's mission will remain focused on its basic task. /Periscope/
