CEC discusses voting with assistance, solutions required for people who do not know read-read

The Central Election Commission has yet to make concrete solutions for voters with special needs, while it has been required that in the upcoming elections these persons be included in the category of persons with special needs. These were two concerns that CEC member Muharrem Nitaj raised.
But, initially, CEC member from the Vetevendosje Movement Alban Krasniqi said that voting with assistance and assistance in the poll are separate issues and that procedures clearly define categories allowed to vote on assistance.

He said the CEC has not yet found an adequate solution to this category of voters and suggested that in the future they be treated as persons with special needs.
But, CEC member from the Vetevendosje Movement Alban Krasniqi stressed that current election procedures do not allow assistance for people who do not know writing-read, Kosovapress writes.
He called on citizens to announce in advance their families on voting procedures in order to avoid misunderstandings during election day.
Meanwhile, Nitaj insisted that people who do not know writing-read in other election processes be included in the category of persons with special needs.
During this meeting, Central Election Commission Chairman Kreshnik Radoniqi also had a message with which he said the CEC has completed all preparations for organising the June 7th elections, ensuring that the process will be carried out in line with legislation in power and democratic standards.
Radoniqi called on all voters to participate in the elections and exploit their constitutional right to vote.
He also requested from members of polling councils, election staff and all engaged in election management that their duties be carried out responsibly, professionally and impartially, strictly respecting election procedures and regulations.
Meanwhile, the director of the Office for Recording, Certificate and Financial Control of Political Subjects, Besnik Buzhala, announced the voting performance by the diaspora.
While adding that 3 grand and 1444 voters with special needs have registered for the June 7th vote elections.
On June 7th, Kosovo citizens will turn to ballot boxes to elect the XI legislature and the new government. The voting process will take place at 949 polling stations with a total of 2,550 seats. In 911, the 2.498 vote centre Regular voting will be allowed, meanwhile, to 38 other centres -- from one in each municipality, with 52 pollings -- will be allowed on bail.
