From Calhanoglu to Yildiz and Guler, Turkey announces World Cup guest list

Turkey's national coach, Vincenzo Montella, announced the final list of 26 football players who will represent the country at the 2026 World Cup.
For Turkey, this is a historic moment, as they are returning to planetarium for the first time since 2002, when they won the bronze medal, and now they are among the representatives that may be the championship surprise.
The Italian coach has chosen a team in which the main stars and leaders of the new wave are 21-year-old Arda Guler (Real Madrid) and Kenan Yildiz (Juventus), as the team's top star is no doubt Hakan Calhanoglu (Inter).
Turkey secured its World Cup ticket through a dramatic campaign. After finishing second in the Group E after Spain, Montella's team defeated Romania (1-0) and then Kosovo (0-1) in Ploya-off. A major reinforcement for the Turkish midfield is Can Uzun from Eintracht Frankfurt, which has an excellent season after him with 10 goals and 5 assimilations.
Many popular names were removed from the broader list. Among those who did not travel are Yusuf Akciek, Aral Simsir (which scored 23 goals last season), Atakan Karazor, and Ahmetcan Kaplan.
The last four players to be eliminated before the final list was finalised were Sengezer, Eskihelac, Tinaz and Sar.
However, the largest media attention was attracted by the non-feet of a Berkeley Ozer of Lille. In November last year, Ozer left the national voluntarily after learning that she would not be in protocol for the match against Bulgaria, which Montella and Turkish Football Federation (TFF) do not forgive, Telegraph reports, broadcast Periscope
