US Treasury temporarily lifts several sanctions on Venezuela to allow post-dramatic assistance

The United States Treasury Department announced on Thursday it would allow “all transactions” with Venezuela related to relief efforts after the earthquake.
Partial and temporary easing of restrictions is authorised from June 26th to October 23rd, according to the Office for Foreign Asset Control (OFAC).
General license allows processing and transfer of funds on behalf of persons from third countries directly or from Venezuela, provided these transactions support operations involved in this particular authorisation.
Venezuelan people have expressed disappointment at the slow pace of the government's response to rescue operations following two earthquakes that hit the country Wednesday.
The “people are really frustrated. They're scared because they know they don't have a country that will fulfill its role. So they know no one will come to help,” said Venezuelan economist Jorge Jraissatti.
