Artan Abazi doesn't get the votes needed for KDR deputy chairman in the first round

At the Kosovo Judiciary Council's meeting (KGJK), the election of deputy prime minister failed in the first round, after the single candidate, Artan Abazi, received five votes, pro and six against.
Kosovo Judiciary Council chief Rrustem Thaci explained the procedure to be followed for the election of deputy chairman.
“For the position of deputy chief has applied only one candidate, where the material you have available is constantly considered so broad and clear for the presentation of the chairman Artan Ahaz's candidacy. Based on Article 3 of the administrative directive for selection of the tribunal's leader, the ad hoc commission in the composition of the three members must first be appointed, with one of the members being chairman of the commission. Also, one member should be from the Department for Legal Affairs and another from the Human Resources Management Department”, Thaci said.
Meanwhile, Kosovo Judiciary Council member and deputy chairmanial candidate Artan Abazi presented his vision regarding this position, Economionline.
I want to point out that my candidacy is not based on any particular or different programme by the Judiciary Council and that of the newly elected leader, because, as you know, on the basis of the Law for the Kosovo Judicial Council and Order for the functioning and internal management of the Kosovo Judiciary Council, the position of deputy chairman is the support of the council's chairman and, at the same time, co-operative position with all other Council members. But I think our success lies precisely in institutional unity, in Collegiation and in the shared responsibility for realising the objectives of the Kosovo Judiciary Council. If I am entrusted with this task, which I have been competing for, I will exercise it with full devotion and co-operating closely with each one of you, in the function of strengthening independence, integrity and efficiency of the Republic of Kosovo judicial system.
I don't really see this position of deputy chief as an individual, but as a collective responsibility, where one's success is everyone's success and where the institution's interest should always be on personal interest. Therefore, if I am entrusted with this position, I assure you that I will be a voice of co-operation, mutual respect and dedication to our joint mission in the service of the Republic of Kosovo judicial system”, he said.
Meanwhile, the meeting continued with a five-minute pause, as the Council did not decide whether the selection process should continue in the second round.
