Former Secretary Robertson: Delivering Kosovo one of the happiest days of my life

On note of the 27th anniversary of Kosovo Liberation, in the Kosovo National Library “Pjetre Bogdani” photodocmentary exhibition “KFOR and Kosovo +25”, which brings visual confessions from the early post-war years to the public.
Organised by the National Library of Kosovo and the National Museum of Kosovo in co-operation with the Heartstone organisation, the exhibition presents photos taken during 2000-2001 by British documentary photographer Nick Sidle.
Through its objective, not only are KFOR peacekeeping forces' activities documented, but also the awareness, challenges and expectations of Kosovo citizens in the country's reconstruction period.
Former Secretary General NATO, Lord Robertson, had helped ensure the access and organisation of the exhibition in the early 2000-2001 and in all presentations during the 25th anniversary of KFOR in Kosovo.
He said the conflict in Kosovo remains engraved in his personal and political memory.
Kosovo's “Release has been one of the happiest days of my life, and my first visit there after the liberation was an important moment uh in all my long political career, and General Clark, who is also on the line today, I think it was the commander officer at the time I was uh visiting. This uh exhibition and these extraordinary photos and stories that have been researched and treated with such skill, along with all the people identified in them, sum up one of Europe's most memorable periods since the end of World War II”, he said.
According to him, the exhibition is inspiring, educational and historical, offering valuable lessons for all visitors.
