Hasani: Kurti is vital to apprehending the prosecution to close cases against his ministers

Enver Hasani, professor of International Law, has criticised Prime Minister Albin Kurti's statements concerning the prosecutorial system, saying they clash with the principle of prosecutorial independence.
On the Rubikon show, Hasani said that in Kosovo and European countries the prosecution is an independent body from power and that the prime minister has no authority to intervene in the process of electing the chief prosecutor.
Kurti's statement to US prosecutors does not stand. In countries in Europe, including Kosovo, the prosecution is an independent body from the executive. He mixed the basics. No right is there in the president of the government, neither here nor anywhere, with the market you can't be the chief prosecutor, because it's the Prosecutor's Council who chooses Chief Prosecutor”, Hasani said.
He stressed, among other things, that current power is intended to exercise control over the prosecution's body because of cases being handled by government officials.
“I strongly believe Kurti and current power are vital to apprehend the prosecution organ, then their chief prosecutor to close the cases that are in the procedure against the ministers and powers of Kurti”, Hasani said.
