Who alarmed Montenegro for the plane of Serb criminals traveling towards Podgorica?

Montenegrin media have reported that French security services have reportedly warned Montenegrin authorities of the arrival of a charter flight from Belgrade with persons linked to criminal environments and the Serbian Progressive Party.

French company V The INCI, which manages an airport “Nikola Tesla” in Belgrade, has been the first to have had information on this charter flight.

Through its liaison officer, she has announced the French intelligence unit DGSE (The General Directorate for Foreign Security), which has later alarmed Montenegrin authorities, according to Montenegrin portal Antena M.

D The GSE has alarmed Podgorica after receiving information on a flight to Tivat on the eve of the European Union and Western Balkans summit, in which French President Emmanuel Macron also participates, broadcast Telegrafi.

Although French authorities have not officially commented on these claims, the very fact that the DGSE is mentioned shows the seriousness of the situation.

It's a service often called “French CIA”, an organisation tasked with collecting intelligence information abroad, fighting terrorism, counterintelligence operations and protecting French national interests worldwide.

D GSE ) French response to CIA and MI6

D GSE was founded during World War II, and its present form was taken in 1982. Her role could be compared to the American CIA or British MI6. The service headquarters is in Paris and, according to available data, employs around 7,000 people and has a budget of nearly one billion euros a year.

Unlike Internal Service DGSI, operating within France's territory, DGSE focuses on external threats, writes nova.rs.

Its agents operate worldwide, collect information through collaborators' networks, monitor communications, analyze satellite images, and perform secret operations in the interest of the French State.

Macro security as priority

The possible DGSE engagement in Tivat's case would not be unusual. French President Emmanuel Macron is considered one of the most protected leaders in Europe, and each visit abroad includes multiple security preparations.

According to Antena M, the French company Vinci, which manages an airport “Nikola Tesla” in Belgrade, has registered the first information for the suspicious charter flight. Through the liaison officer, The DGSE has been announced and is later said to have forwarded the warning to security structures in Montenegro.

Such cooperation is not unusual, since French services often exchange data with partner agencies when they estimate that there is potential danger for French officials or international events.

The Service Known for Secret Operations

Over the decades, DGSE has participated in multiple contract operations. The most famous case occurred in 1985, when its agents sank the Greenpeace organisation's “Rainbow Warior” in New Zealand to prevent protests against French nuclear tests. This operation caused international scandal and led to France's then defence minister's resignation.

The service was later involved in the fight against al-Qaeda, the rescue of French hostages in Iraq and Africa, as well as a series of anti-terrorism operations in the Middle East and the Sahel.

In recent years, it has significantly increased activities in the field of cyber security, electronic surveillance and monitoring of foreign influences in European elections.

Montenegrin police and the Agency for National Security have announced they have increased raids at Tivat Airport and carried out detailed verifications of passengers who have arrived on the charter flight from Belgrade. Out of a total of 87 citizens of Serbia, some individuals named as security interest have been prevented from entering Montenegro.

Although there is no official confirmation at the moment that the DGSE has initiated the action, the fact that the summit was held in the presence of Macron and other senior European officials makes it credible that French services have been involved in assessing security risks. /Periscope
