Kusari: VV's anti-Media Narrateva is translated into threats, intimulation and violence against journalists

Media lawyer Butteran Kusari has reacted after the latest cases involving journalist Meme Smajli and the Dukajini television team, accusing Vetevendosje Movement that it has contributed to the degradation of the public discourse and inciting attacks on journalists and critics.
Through a post on social networks, Kusari said anti-media narraktiva created by the ruling party is turning into threats, intimated and even physical violence against journalists.
This anti-media-mediction designed by the VV to brutally attack those who speak and criticize it severely, is disturbing because it often translates into denigration attacks online, threats, intimulation, pressure and then even physical violence”, Kusari wrote.
She said the last two cases illustrate the consequences of this approach to the media and journalists.
The last two cases illustrate this. Meme Smajli has reported on an issue of public interest -- that is, how MP Valon Ramadani's parent has privatisation and accounts for the privatisation process for his family company. In response he received charges, warnings of lawsuits and private messages with terrible content, including explosive abuse”, she said.
Referring to the case reported by Dukagjini television in Gjilan, Kusari said journalists have also faced physical attacks during the exercise of office.
“Dukagini today reported work on Gjilan Square, with the aim of informing the public about construction, and in response received physical assault from the respective company. Hala a word from the mayor of the Gnjilan municipality” wrote Kusari.
According to her, in an environment where attacks on critics normalise from power, such cases are not surprising.
“Normically, in a country where the state is led by a party like VV, which has contributed mostly to the degradation of public discours and in promotion, orchestration, support, and even the reasoning of online attacks on critics, cannot be expected other than such”, Kusari concluded.
