Westerlund calls for institution formation: We need compromises, even if you're the biggest party.

Sweden's Ambassador to Kosovo, Jonas Westerlund, has said that the country should have a president/e as soon as it is elected to compromises, “even if you are the largest political party”.
Westerlund has even mentioned former President Ibrahim Rugova, whose party had won over 40% of the vote.
He has quoted the former president's words about his former adviser's victory, who had told Rugova that without two-thirds of parliament, they cannot elect the president.
Westerlund stressed that politicians should remember that this is not a <x0 game” which is about serving the people.
I think all politicians are elected by citizens and should remember that this is not a game. It's about serving the people, and that's why there has to be a government. I understand that if you represent the largest political party or if you have a majority in parliament, you should be able to form the government and continue with the mandate you have been given. But, of course, the president must be elected, and compromises are needed for that.
I was told that after the first elections after the 1999 war, the late President Ibrahim Rugova, when the LDK won about 42.5% of the vote, it is said we can now form the government, elect the president and we can elect the Speaker of the Parliament. And I understand that some of his advisers of that time, including the late Alush Gashi, had told him, look, we don't have the majority. We do not have the majority in parliament and do not have two-thirds of the votes to elect the president. So compromises must be made, even if you are the largest political party”, Swedish Ambassador for Online Economy said, Periscopi broadcasts.
