USA and China on the table: Trade talks before TrumpX meeting

The top trade delegations of the US and China held “construction talks” in South Korea on Wednesday, Chinese state media reported on the eve of a very expected summit between US President Donald Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping.
The two sides held sincere, deepening and constructive exchanges on the resolution of economic and trade issues with common interest and on further expansion of practical co-operation, the Chinese state broadcaster CCTV reported, without providing details on specific topics of discussion.
The delegations were led by US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Chinese Deputy Prime Minister He Lifening. The meetings were held in Inheon, South Korea, where Bessent was also attending a meeting with South Korean President Lee Yae Myung, writes CNN.
Talks come at an important moment for US relations, while the two countries seek to manage trade tensions.
