Oil Association: Arrested ones do not represent all operators

The Kosovo Oil Association has expressed full support for justice institutions in the ongoing investigation into some oil importers.
Nine people have been arrested in the Special Prosecutor's Action, against organised crime under suspicion that they have submitted false tax documents, as well as by conducting sales and extinguishing transactions of oil derivatives.
In response, the Oil Association has said, however, these are isolated cases and do not represent the professionalisation of most of this sector's operators.
At the same time, the Association estimates that the cases currently in the investigation represent isolated cases and do not represent the work, integrity and professionalism of most of this sector's operators, who exercise their activity in full compliance with law and standards in force. The Kosovo Oil Association remains committed to close co-operation with competent institutions and supports any process that strengthens rule of law, promotes fair competition and increases citizens' confidence in the oil market”, it says in response.
