The Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo has detailed the extensive operation held Wednesday in several regions of the country, which resulted in the arrest of nine people suspected of involvement in organised crime.
According to a joint communiqué of the Special Prosecutor, Kosovo Police, Kosovo Customs and the Kosovo Tax Administration (ATK), the operation has been led by the Special Prosecutor and the Directorate for Investigation of War Crimes and Organised Crime in Kosovo Police, with the support of Customs and ATK.
At the order of the Foundation Court in Pristina, checks have been conducted at 21 locations.
During the raids, 15 thousand euros have been seized cash, five cars, five Autobots for transporting oil derivatives, two firearms, 54 rounds, electronic devices, various documents and other relevant evidence for the case.
According to authorities, investigations have created the suspicion that those arrested have acted as a structured criminal group, presenting false documents concerning taxes, and conducting sale and extinguishing transactions of oil derivatives.
