More cases of hantaviria in the coming weeks, O'S chief warns BSH

One of the world's leading health experts has warned that we can see more cases of infact in the near future.
Tedros Adhanom Ghebreesesus, director general of the World Health Organization, claims that there is no <x0 see <x0) <x0x1> that a pandemic is on the verge, as cases of rodent transmitted disease were identified on the MV Honduus tourist ship last month.
But he said at a press conference in Madrid: "Of course, the situation can change”.
And given the long period of incubation of the virus, it is possible to see more cases in the coming weeks".
Three on the tourist ship sailing the Atlantic Ocean have died of rare but fatal disease.
At least 85 guests and 35 crew members have been evacuated from the ship, the tour operator Oceania Expeditions said on Monday.
At least eight other people aboard are sick or have resulted in positive results.
Among them are an American citizen and a 65-year-old French woman, both of whom resulted positive after they were evacuated.
Ghebrases said 150 people aboard the ship have faced a very scary “situation. Some of the passengers were facing a mental crisis”, he added. “They have the right to treat with dignity and compassion”.
There were several people around the world calling for passengers to be kept aboard for the full period of quarantine”.
Our view was that this would have been inhuman and unnecessary”.
Passengers flew back from Tenerife, the Spanish Canary Islands, to their native countries on Sunday and Monday.
Ghebrases acknowledged that those living in Tenerife were “concerned about the passengers and ships that landed on the island.
He added: “We said the risk was low, for people of Tenerife as well as on a global level, and all of our efforts in the past week have been intended to keep it low”.
This is a serious situation we've taken and we continue to take it very seriously”
Ghebrès praised Spain for “and compassion and solidarity” that he showed to vacationers.
He urged governments to do the same with passengers and to make sure that they are quarantined for at least 42 days. /Periscope
