Gjakova troika: Parents' Network calls for arrest of suspected director of sexual harassment against minors

Kosovo has been shocked by a video investment published by the show “Piraña”, where it is allegedly for sexual harassment against a 17-year-old minor by school director “Peter Bogdani” in Dedova Demen, Nazmi Pnishi. The case has prompted sharp reactions from organisations and citizens, while the Kosovo Parenting Network has called for urgent action by responsible institutions.
The organisation's public response says that the director's alleged actions constitute “a shameful and criminal act”, stressing that a person in charge of student education and safety cannot abuse his position at the expense of children.
According to the statement, concern remains the fact that the event allegedly took place within the school environments, while the organisation criticises the lack of institutional response from the local and central level.
“The question of institutions is co-state”, says in response, which mentions the claim that the person in question boasts political support. The Teaching Parents Network considers it unacceptable not to take immediate measures to remove it from the educational system and investigate the case.
The organisation has called on the State Prosecutor to immediately initiate criminal investigations and procedures against the director, while his immediate dismissal from any public and educational function has been requested from the Gjakova municipality.
Also, some concrete requirements for increased security in schools have been presented, including putting anonymous boxes of complaints in each school, establishing a national digital platform for reporting abuses, and conducting periodic psychological and ethical assessments for teachers and educational institutions.
At the end of the response, the organisation has urged parents to speak openly to their children about possible cases of abuse, while students have been encouraged to report any improper or threatening behavior.
“School should be the safest place for a kid in the back of his house. We will not allow politics or institutional indifference to protect the predator. We seek justice, now”, the reaction of the Kosovo Parent Education Network concludes.
