Konjufca acknowledges that the Brussels and Ohrid agreement contains commitments: No signed

Kosovo Foreign Affairs Minister Glauk Konjufca, during his participation in the Dubrovnik Forum, said Kosovo had been ready to sign the Ohrid Agreement, but according to him, it was rejected by Serbia.
Commenting on the European Union's statement on dialogue, Peter Sorensen, that the Ohrid Agreement remains valid and should be respected, Konjufca said the agreement was initially expected to be signed.
“As for dialogue with Serbia and the agreement, I think we hoped we had an agreement. It was not signed, although we were willing to sign it. Our Prime Minister Albin Kurti clearly expressed his willingness to sign this agreement. But it was rejected, I think, from Serbia”, he said.
He said that after refusing to sign by Serbia, mediators faced a new situation and treated the agreement as a <x0-gentlemen '%s agreement”.
This was the moment when even the mediators began to think about how they would adapt to this new situation, because the agreement was not originally conceived that way. It was later treated as an agreement on this status. In a way, there was the form of a gentleman's agreement (<x1).
Konjufca stressed that Kosovo was not satisfied with this approach, praising that the document should take the form of an international agreement with clear legal obligations for implementation.
We weren't happy about that. We thought it should be an international agreement establishing clear legal obligations for implementation. Finally, mediators published the text on the official page of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and declared that this is the agreement and that the parties should implement”, Konjufca said.
