France launches Musk probe into X child pornography

The French prosecutor has launched an investigation into Elon Musk and his platform “X” (former-Twitter) over suspicion of distributing sexual abuse materials to children on the social network.
According to the media, the investigation includes serious charges related to possible involvement in possession and distribution of images with pornographic content for children, as well as other illegal content distributed on the platform, Telegraph reports, Periscope broadcast.
French authorities are also considering the role of the platform in managing content created by artificial intelligence and in safety measures for protecting users.
The investigation comes in the context of increasing concerns in Europe about how social networks manage sensitive and illegal content, especially those involving children.
Elon Musk and platform representatives “X” have not yet given a detailed comment on the case.
