The EU calls on parties for respectful campaigning: Maintain Sextic and Misogenous Language Toward Women

The European Union has called on political parties, as well as candidates for deputies, to promote respectable and inclusive political discurs, as well as to refrain from sexist or misogenous language and behavior towards women, including distribution through social media and online platforms.
From the EU, it also says, women should be able to participate in political life freely, safely and equally.

On the eve of the official start of the pre-election campaign, the EU in Kosovo calls on all Kosovo political parties and candidates, who participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections, to promote a respectable and comprehensive political discurs, as well as to refrain from sexist or misogenous behaviour towards women, including distribution through social media and online platforms.
Women should be able to participate in political life freely, safely and equally, both offline and online.
Gender equality, human dignity and democracy are fundamental values of the EU and essential elements for reliable and inclusive elections.
