Croatia has officially sent 133 members of the Armed Forces as part of the 45th Croatian contingent (HRVCON), within the framework of NATO's peacekeeping mission in Kosovo.
The ceremony was held in the barracks “Colonel Predrag Matanovic” in Petrinje, attended by Croatia's Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Ivan Anushic, as well as top military officials.
The new contingent will operate under the command of Brigadier Marijan Gr '%an.
During the ceremony, Anusic highly praised the professionalism of Croatian soldiers, stressing that their contribution to peacekeeping missions in Kosovo and other countries has won the respect of NATO allies.
Each Croatian contingent has received high marks and deep respect from NATO member states”, he said, adding that this testifies to the professionalism and high preparation of Croatian forces.
The Croatian minister also established this commitment in the historic context of the country's military, stressing that it was built on the experience of the Homeland War and today represents a professional and consolidated force.
Croatia, a NATO member since 2009, has kept its presence in the Kosovo KFOR mission through infantry units, intelligence and medical teams in support of stability and security in the region.
