Brian Kuci: Law on Citizenship adopted by VV and Serbian List Inexcusable, Harmless for Kosovo

The Kosovo Assembly in April had approved 69 votes for, two against and no second reading abstention Project No.10/L-023 on Kosovo State. Opposition came from opposition parties.

The candidate for MP from the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Blerim Kuci, the Vetevendosje Movement has said, and the Serbian List adopted State Law, Law No. 10/L-023.

“The VV was in a coalition with other minorities, the Law could be passed in a simple majority. If the purpose was the law for the exile, Article 31 could be removed. Why the problem is Article 31. The Republic of Kosovo recognises the right to citizenship of the Republic of Kosovo, regardless of their current settlement and citizenship they have, all citizens of the former Federation Republic of Yugoslavia, who have been permanent residents of Kosovo on January 1st 1998 and their direct descendants”, it has written.

Kuci through a post on the social Facebook network has raised concerns “with this article, every criminal, paramilitary resident in Kosovo on 1 January 1998 and all his descendants around the world gain Kosovo citizenship with facilitated procedure”.

This decision could bring demographic inflation controlled directly by Serbia, potential for manipulation of elections by Serbia, opening the way for massive property claims, long-term risks to the country's constitutional and demographic order. PIUSTIFIFY. FALSE.”, he wrote.

On the other hand, Kuci has indicated that if he gets the trust of citizens as deputy, one of his first actions will be the initiative of a parliamentary intervention.

If I get your trust as an MP, the first action will be to open the debate on interference with the aim of discussing change of law”, he wrote.
