Anti-Albanian messages in northern Macedonia following student protests: Neither on earth nor in heaven, place for Albanians

Tensions return in northern Macedonia following Albanian students' protests over the right to a maternal law test.

Interethnic tensions have now passed with messages and slogans written on Skopje's walls.

A photograph from the sports centre “is also being circulated on social networks. Force” in Skopje, where a hate speech slogan against Albanians is written:

Neither on earth nor in heaven, there is no place for Albanians”.

The view has also been followed and distributed by political figures and activists, who have called for reaction and interference by responsible institutions in northern Macedonia. But no official response from authorities has been reported so far.

The incident comes at a time when cases of anti-Albanian rhetoric have increased in the country. Even earlier, during a sports event, choirs and insulting calls to Albanians were heard by Macedonian fans, prompting reactions and concerns about increased hate speech. /Periscope/
