VV also warns a <x0intensification” of attempts to elect President Rexaj: We'll go by names

With only nine days remaining from the constitutional deadline for electing the president, Vetevendosje Movement MP Arber Rexaj has warned of intensifying political efforts by Prime Minister Albin Kurti for reaching an agreement. He for Kosova Prees, has indicated that the next week is expected to be marked by more frequent Kurt meetings, [...]
It for Kosova Prees, has indicated that the next week is expected to be characterised with more frequent Kurti meetings, stressing the need for the process to pass from general discussions to concrete proposals for names.
I expect the intensity of the meetings. I expect there will be meetings in the next week. Of course, we have to move on to concrete proposals of the names of the problem that lead us to elect the president or president. As we discussed in the parliamentary group, there will be no problem that prevents this process in terms of LVV. We are convinced that the president must be elected”, he declares.
According to him, failure to elect the president at this stage would have serious political consequences, where the country could enter a cycle of crises, in which elections could be repeated repeatedly.
Speaking of interparty dialogue, Rexhaj has stressed that compromise is necessary, but has criticised the approach of several opposition parties. He has estimated that discussing the criteria, as the LDK proposes, is necessary, while rejecting the PDK's request for formal meeting invitations, calling it an obstacle to communication.
Rexhaj says LV is ready for compromise for the president, but according to him, this does not imply unilateral withdrawal, but willingness to examine concrete names and build consensus within the parliamentary group.
If the Assembly does not elect the president by April 28th, the country will go to new elections.
So far, following the Constitutional Act on the issue, only one meeting has been held between Albin Kurti and Lumir Abdijxhik from LDK. On the other side, The PDK has requested an official invitation to the meeting, which has so far not occurred.
