The officers said the shooting occurred around 0500 local time (10:00 BST), when an armed person shot 10 people. The police chased and killed the shooter while he was leaving.
“We have hurt families, injured police officers, legal doctors' personnel”, Shreveport Mayor Tom Arcenaux said. “This affects the whole community, so we all mourn with these families. ”
Police did not identify the man or the victims, but said some of the children were related to the late man.
