I'd like to take the news of the violent attack of an armed man at a hotel in Washington, DC, during a presidential event with journalists. An attack like this strikes our democratic freedom and way of life everywhere. I punish him strongly. I feel relieved that @ POTUS and all present are safe and sound”.
Gunshots were recorded at the annual dinner of the White House Correspondents' Association. Dinner had just begun when a big mess was heard at the entrance of the hall.
Those present immediately lay on the floor. President and the first lady Melanie Trump, who were sitting at the central table in a place set up in front of guests, left the security guard.
Secret Service agents entered the heavily armed room. Security forces then ordered guests, journalists, ministers, politicians, and different personalities to leave the large hall in the first basement of the hotel. The author of the event was immediately arrested as the investigation follows.
