The political situation in the country remains tense, while attempts at electing the president have not yet produced agreements among the main parties, Telegrafi reports, Periscopi broadcast.
After the meeting between Prime Minister Albin Kurti and LDK leader Lumir Abdixhiku, both sides have expressed themselves in different tones.
Kurti has appeared optimistic about reaching an agreement, declaring that “has the will to avoid elections, and the agreement could happen”.
On the other hand, Abdixhiku has refocused his stance that “a party can have three top positions”, implying that without agreement the country can go to the polls.
Meanwhile, the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) has set conditions for a meeting with Kurti, requiring formalisation of the invitation and institutional seriousness.
On the other hand, Kurti has criticised the PDK's approach, praising that lack of concrete names makes it difficult to reach an agreement with the president. He has stressed that without concrete proposals, the process remains blocked.
The criticism has also taken place by the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK).
Its leader, Ramush Haradinaj, has accused Kurti of lack of priority in this process, claiming that “has not had the president's election priority, so we are ending up in the elections”.
Kosovo faces a limited deadline for electing the president, and, in the absence of a political agreement, risks moving to new elections. /Periscopi
