In the name of the people: A life sentence for the two accused in Banjska case, the other with 30 years to turn for Milan Radocicin

The attack on Zvecan Banjska left 50-year-old sergeant from Vushtrria, Afrem Bulnjakou, already injured police official Alban Rashiti and injured the Shaqiri liberation, Mirsad Kryeziu of Sedat Dushi.

The three who were convicted today are part of a group of 45 individuals, against whom an indictment was filed about a year after the attack on the northern part of Kosovo, including Milan Radojcicin, former vice president of the largest Serbian party in Kosovo, the Serbian List, which in the indictment is named as the “head of the terrorist group”.

Tollic, Spasojevic and Maksimovic have denied the accusations and claimed they were not intent on killing anyone, much less the union of northern Kosovo with Serbia, as the indictment says.

The responsibility for the armed attack on Banjska has been taken by Milan Radoic, former deputy chairman of the Serbian List, the largest party of Serbs in Kosovo, who enjoys official Belgrade's support.

For Radocicin and the other 41 indictees on this case on the run, prosecutors had sought trial in absentia, but the Constitutional Court rejected their request as being “equipped”.

What are the suspects charged with?

According to the prosecution, the accused allegedly, through the use of violent and heavy weapons, had attempted to exhumate the northern part of Kosovo, to unite Serbia, with the massacres being killed by police in Bulnjak, had been wounded by other police officer Alban Rasiti, while the police were hurting Sahiti, Mirsad Kryeziu and Sedat Dushi, but the lives of other policemen and the civilian population were endangered.

For these actions, the same acts are accused of committing criminal acts “grave acts against the constitutional order and security of the Republic of Kosovo”.

The alleged leader of the suspects for the Banjska attack, Radoic, is suspected that between 2017 and September 24, 2023, it has provided revenue through a structured group to be used for weapons, logistics and financing of members, with the aim of carrying out terrorist works. For these alleged acts, he is accused of facilitating and financing terrorism.

Also, according to the prosecution, it is alleged that, with the help of one of the accused, Radulle Stevic, as well as his businesses, Radojciq has converted revenue from criminal activity to active and real estate, moving them to third persons to hide their origin. For that part, he is accused of money laundering.
