This ratification of the agreement on the Board comes after the decision that 22 members of the Kosovo Security Force are side by side with the armies, members of the Board in Gaza.
On February 19th of this year, former Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani had attended the Peace Board inauguration meeting in Washington, the United States, where Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama was present.
President Donald Trump, presenting leaders present at that meeting, the first Peace Board, had also thanked Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani.
One of the main points of that meeting was the collection of funds for the reconstruction of Gaza and the offering of humanitarian aid.
On its social media platform Truth Social, Trump had announced that $5 billion (4.2 billion euros) has already been promised by board members.
By December, 20 countries had confirmed they would be part of the Board. Among them, Kosovo, Albania, Bulgaria and Hungary are the only European countries that have joined.
Italy, Cyprus, Greece and Romania and the European Union have decided to join as observers, which means they will not participate in decision-making.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will instead send Dubravka Suica, the European Commissioner for the Mediterranean.
However, President Osmani, after the signing of the Peace Board Charter in 22.01.2026, has indicated that this historic agreement, as it calls it, will be submitted to the Kosovo Assembly for ratification in accordance with the Kosovo Constitution, to receive the final approval of representatives of the people and which took place today on April 24th 2026.
The Peace Board will have a <x0Bord founding executive” including Jared Kouchner, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, special envoy Steve Whitoff and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.
