In an interview for Frankfurter Allgemine Zeitung, Thaci has been asked about this idea and whether she was discussed with Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq.
My key goal was to ensure a lasting peace between Kosovo and Serbia, which would enable the two countries to move forward and Kosovo full international integration. It would be unforgivable to leave unresolved problems for future generations”, Thaci has declared.
He has stressed that his commitment has been oriented towards a solution through dialogue and diplomatic means, in line with the country's constitutional order.
According to him, the European Union has played an important role in the Kosovo dialogue process, while the involvement of the United States of America has made progress more evident.
“Progress is greater when the United States of America is included, he said.
Thaci has estimated that the past five years have been missing for Kosovo in relation to international partners, voicing concern also for the European Union's punitive measures on the country.
He has stressed that maintaining relations with strategic allies should remain the priority of state policy.
