We lost Eliot Engel, a great friend of the Albanian people today and always a strong voice for them. Thank you for everything you did for Kosovo and our nation.
Your name will forever remain in the memory and hearts of Albanians, as one of our most precious friends who stood by us in our most difficult day. Rest in peace”, wrote the president.
Former corruption Elliot Engel passed away at age 79. He represented for more than three decades the state of New York at the American Congress, being one of the most vocal supporters of the Albanian issue in the US.
