According to the announcement, goods in the personal luggage of travellers coming from outside Kosovo are free of import duties, while they are for personal use and have no commercial intention. This category includes only random goods and leaves no doubt that they are for sale, while portable containers carrying fuel are exempt.
Customs explains that each traveler is obliged to declare goods if their value exceeds the permitted limit or is for commercial purposes.
As far as limits are concerned, travellers entering Kosovo via land or rail routes can bring tax-free goods to the value of 300 euros per person, while air travelers earn higher borders of 430 euros per person. For children under the age of 15, the vast limit is up to 150 euros.
This announcement aims to inform citizens of the rules in force and avoid misunderstandings during the border crossing, while simultaneously facilitating customs procedures for travellers.
