Tahiri criticises Government: Public Administration Reform Going Backward

The head of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo's (AAK) Parliamentary Group, Besnik Tahiri, has reacted to the Government's decision to establish the Council of Ministers for Public Administration Reform, calling it a false step and deviation from the basic principles of governance. In a Facebook post, Tahiri stressed that this [...]
In a Facebook post, Tahiri stressed that this decision “is a complete deviation from the basic principles of accountability and institutional responsibility for reforms in the state administration”.
According to him, the responsibility for the Public Administration Reform should be focused on a single institution, namely, the Ministry of Digitalisation and Public Administration.
The Public Administration Reform has a clear address, it is in the relevant and responsible ministry... It is where responsibility, leadership, and application must be maintained,” wrote Tahiri.
He has criticised the establishment of a new ministerial council, considering it unnecessary, as according to him, the government cabinet itself already functions as a college decision-making body.
Tahiri has proposed strengthening the role of the relevant ministry, naming it a positive step, but has warned that the recent decision “is dimming and distributing responsibility”.
This is not reform, it's regras. We no longer have a clear address of responsibility, but a college body where responsibility is lost and accountability fades,”, he stressed.
He has warned of the possible consequences of this organisation, adding that the “that is being designed at the start is the failure and underestimation of a key ministry for the state”.
“Reform cannot start backwards! ” has added Tahiri.
