Kosovo National Institute of Public Health ( The IKPK has announced that during April 16th, July 6, 2026, a total of 52 confirmed fruit cases have been recorded in the country.
According to IKSC data, the largest number of cases have been recorded in Pristina on 17 occasions, followed by Ferizaj on 12 occasions, Kacanik with 6 cases and Fushe-Kosovo with 5 cases. In Lipjan, Vushtrri, Enhance and Obilic are reported by two cases, while in one case it was recorded in Gjilan, Drenas, Decani and the Year.
Doctors in Kosovo have repeatedly called for the inoculation of children, as they say it has influenced the number of these cases to increase.
But, despite doctors' calls, there is a number of parents that “do not trust” health institutions.
Psychologists and sociologists have talked about this degree of distrust, which shows the way dezinforms are affecting some Kosovo parents.
Psychologist Emma Jashari Skeja for the clancosova.tv has commented on the reasons for the parents' non-excition of children.
She said parents are being influenced by disinformations concerning vaccines distributed on social networks.
One of the main reasons some parents don't vaccinate their children is fear. When it comes to a child's health, parents are very easily affected by the information they hear on social networks, family members, or circles. A case shown emotionally often affects more than a professional explanation. For us, there are still many disinfectants about vaccines, especially about the measles vaccine. Her relationship to autism continues to be incorrectly mentioned, although this has long been rejected by scientific studies”, she said initially.
It also listed distrust of institutions as one of the reasons for this phenomenon.
Another reason is distrust of institutions. When citizens do not have full confidence in the health system or in institutions in general, this suspicion is also conveyed to the vaccine process. Also, call “that child is not sufficient. Parents need someone to listen to, answer their questions, and clearly clarify the benefits and possible side effects. I think your parents shouldn't be judged, but better informed. Clear communication, close and continuous by pediatrics and health professionals is the best way to restore trust”, she concluded.
Sociology, Flaka Ymer, also believes that the spread of disincentives around vaccines plays a key role in the parents ' decision to avoid the children.
The child's subx0sis is a complex phenomenon influenced by various social, cultural and information factors. One of the main reasons is the spread of inaccurate deninforms and information on social networks and various online platforms, which often create fear and uncertainty in parents. Also, the lack of sufficient knowledge about the importance of vaccine and the consequences of preventable vaccine diseases can affect their decision making. In some cases, parents may also have personal concerns or beliefs that make them reluctant to vaccinate”.
On the other hand, Ymer says citizens' distrust of institutions stems as a lack of clear information and spreading conspiracy theories as well as the impact of informal sources of information.
She said it is essential that health institutions develop continued, transparent and based on scientific evidence, strengthening dialogue with citizens and addressing their concerns.
“Trust in health institutions is closely linked to transparency, communication and citizens' experiences with these institutions. Disconfidence can arise as a result of lack of clear and understandable information, spreading conspiracy theories, as well as the impact of unofficial sources of information. Moreover, if citizens perceive that institutions do not communicate openly or address their concerns, the level of trust may be reduced. Therefore, it is essential that health institutions develop continued, transparent and scientific-based communication, strengthening dialogue with citizens and addressing their concerns professionally. The vaccine remains one of the most effective public health measures for preventing infectious diseases and protecting children's health and community in general”, it concluded.
