The ruling party is seeking solutions to avoid elections, and the opposition supports Osman's decree.
However, connoisseurs warn that going to the new elections will have a negative impact on the internal development plan and on the international arena.
We are now entering the second year of a total blockade, and this stagnation has an impact on all spheres, especially in international reports, because no Kosovo international process will be able to advance as long as this situation is. This keeps our allies away from you, especially the EU and the United States of America from Kosovo, from caring for Kosovo, and that makes it impossible for the membership of international organisations, new recognitions, so it will be a complete statement”, analyst Artan Muharzier said.
The consequences are also warned in the country's economy.
When there are no laws, when general government directives are not approved to preserve commercial stability, then the market certainly functions in its action. In this context, when you see that it's not monitored and it's not followed, observed by institutions respectively, then we have the price rise in the market that directly affects the social and economic standards of citizens”, said Nagip Svanier, professor of economy.
Analyst Artan Muharzier points out this situation could be averted, but as he adds, the political class is very divided.
The big disappointment is that this whole crisis has been extremely deep, it's been completely inevitable, completely unnecessary, and it's only taken a little rationality, intelligence, will, make-up to exceed, but these are also too much to ask for from this political class.
And these are the ones I'm afraid the country will go to the elections because it won't find compromise but with all that and it seems there's no disco. And without political agreement, no one will win this country”, Sadik Zeqiri, policy connoisseur for RTK, has said.
After the February 2025 elections failed to produce new institutions in December last year, extraordinary elections were organised. The same were considered necessary to get out of political blockades.
And Kosovo's freedom of elections unit is estimated to cause impasses in institutional reforms, integration processes and economic development.
