Today on March 8th, my wife's international day, I visited Mrs. Lumnije Thaci, wife of President Thaci, who is unjustly being held in The Hague.
On this particular day, we remembered together the sacrifices, courage and endurance of Albanian women over the generations.
Despite the economic, social, and violence they have often faced, they have always remained a pillar of family, godly wives, committed mothers, and steadfast partners in national efforts.
Our history and tradition testify that the Albanian woman has always been respected and appreciated, even in times of war and resistance. So today, her request for equality and dignified treatment is, not charity, but a legitimate right that our society should recognize and protect.
On this symbolic day, we honor all women who have contributed to the family, community, and nation freedom. Their power, education, and equality are a permanent task for each of us.
The Albanian woman always remains a symbol of strength, intellectual courage and love of her homeland, such is Mrs. Lumniye Thaci. )
