Kurti said the events in Prekaz represent a historic moment for Kosovo and symbol of resistance in the face of oppression.
In those days of facing the will for freedom with the printing device, history was written with fire and blood, the earth became an altar of freedom, and a family became a national symbol. The figure of legendary commander Adam Jashar, inextricably linked to the fate of his family and his warriors, became the personification of his determination to refuse submission. This sacrifice was experienced in our collective consciousness and memory as a constant lesson that freedom is paid dearly and that it is nonnegotiable and just and inevitable value. In the historic course of long political and social efforts for rights, equality and dignity, the curve in Prekaz clearly unearthed Kosovo's people's aspirations for liberation from conquering Serbia. The KLA's era was called for mobilization, unity, and clear articulation of our aim for citizenship and independence”, Kurti said.
