One of the creators of the Kosovo Constitution, Ismet Salihu, has declared that President Vjosa Osmani's decree to distribute the Assembly is fully constitutional and in accordance with the country's fundamental law.
I don't believe the constitution rejects the decision to distribute the Assembly because the president has expired the mandate has done well, Salihu told FrontOnline.
According to Salih, the president's election should have started 30 days before the end of the current president's mandate, but after this process was not realised within the deadline, the president's move to distribute the Assembly was necessary and fair.
He has said the Constitution has no reason to reject the decision, and that Osman's move is in full accordance with the Constitution.
In the Constitution, it writes that the election of the presidents should begin 30 days before the term expires at 24:00 hours has passed and the president has not been elected, and that has distributed the Parliament I think its action is completely constitutional, Salihu said.
Osman dissolved the Assembly on Friday. Prime Minister Albin Kurti took this decree to Constitutional.
The Constitution imposed a temporary measure yesterday on the decree and Parliament until 31 March.
