The United States has undertaken new attacks against military targets in Iran, just an hour after US blockades of Iranian ports and ships entered into force.
According to an American official, quoted by the Associated Press, military operations began immediately after the implementation of new maritime measures, marking a further escalation of tensions between Washington and Tehran.
Meanwhile, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed that blockades to Iranian ports and ships have entered into force. According to the report, about 20 warships and hundreds of American military aircraft are deployed and operating in the Middle East region.
The U.S. “American forces remain vigilant, lethal and ready-to-be”, the CENTCOM statement said.
