(8 hours ago)European Council President Antónnio Costa has declared that the process of European Union enlargement is gaining new momentum, as four intergovernmental conferences dedicated to EU membership candidate countries are held today.
Costa announced that the European Union will open new negotiating clauses with Ukraine and Moldova, while in negotiations with Montenegro and Albania will close several chapters.
According to him, enlargement remains one of Europe's most successful stories, and every step forward in this process brings the continent closer to a more united, sustainable and prosperous Europe.
