The meeting of British officials, held at Downing Street, also addressed Iranian threats to unarmed ships and civil infrastructure, including the risk of these attacks escalating the regional crisis and negatively impacting the UK and globally.
According to the communiqué, the use of British bases for US operations takes place under “collective protection” and aims to degrade Iranian missile capacities that threaten ship freedom in the Hormuz Strait.
