Jaka: Red card changed everything, ruined our game

Swiss captain Granit Jaka spoke after the dramatic elimination from the World Cup, stressing that the decision to expel Breel Embolos was the moment it changed the course of meeting Argentina.
Switzerland was in the race for a country in the semifinals and had managed to equalise the outcome, but after Embolos' red card, it remained with a smaller player and the situation became much more difficult.
In the end, Argentina took advantage of numeric supremacy and triumphed 3-1 after the sequel.
“After that moment the game changed completely. It was a very influential decision, because until then we were in the game and we were struggling to get past”, Jaka said, referring to the episode that Switzerland left with ten players.
The Albanian midfielder with the Swiss passport praised his team's performance and stressed that the team gave everything in the field, despite the elimination.
We're proud of what we did. We played against one of the best teams in the world and showed character. But at such levels, the details set everything”, it was the captain's message.
Switzerland's elimination was accompanied by many discussions on the VAR decision and the second yellow card to Embolos, which was viewed by the Swiss side as a moment that directly affected the fate of the match.
