The United States welcomes the announcement of the agreement reached regarding the implementation of the Foreign Law. We congratulate the parties' commitment to this issue, with the goal of reaching an acceptable solution for all. Any changes affecting the Kosovo Serb community should be made in close consultation and with the approval of the Kosovo Serb community”, the embassy's response reported.
The Kosovo government has negotiated an agreement with the European Union on how foreign law enforcement and vehicles, from which the Serb community in Kosovo would be affected.
The government agreed to provide temporary residence permits and to recognise IDs issued by parallel structures for a 12-month period.
Other foreign embassies in the country have welcomed this agreement.
Full implementation of laws began on Sunday until a period from January for a conscious campaign was preceded.
