An Interpol fugitive under false Kosovo documents arrested in Belgrade

Vuk Vullevic, Montenegrin national for whom red arrest was issued by Interpol, was arrested on 12 July at a local Belgrade, Serbia's Ministry of Internal Affairs (MPB) announced.
“During the arrest, forged personal documents issued in Kosovo were found. By order of the competent prosecution, criminal charges will be raised against him under suspicions that he committed the criminal offence of the documents”, Radio Free Europe Radio Service reportedly broadcasts.
The Serbian MPB said an international arrest sheet was issued to Volevqi by the international police agency, Interpol, in Podgorica, for criminal acts of organisation of the criminal group and production, possession and unauthorized trafficking of narcotics.
According to the announcement, a warrant for arrest was issued by the Supreme Court in Belgrade, the Special Department for Organised Crime, concerning the criminal acts for which it is required by Montenegrin justice.
Police announced that during the arrest they confiscated two mobile phones and announced the Third Founding Prosecutor in Belgrade.
Likewise, Vullevic was told he would be sent to the Special Department for Organised Creation of the Supreme Court in Belgrade.
Montenegrin police seek Volevqi under suspicion that it is part of Vaso Ulliq's organised criminal group and Radoje Switzerland.
Montenegro's Special State Prosecutor filed an indictment in July 2024 against 19 people suspected of organising an international criminal group that had participated in smuggling about 2.5 tonnes of cocaine.
While nine suspected members of this group were arrested in July 2024, other suspects continue to be on the run.
Montenegrin justice authorities in this operation, codenamed “General”, were supported by European police agency Europol, Federal Bureau of Investigation FBI, Narcotics Fighting Administration DEA and Australian Federal Police.
Montenegro's Special Prosecutor identified him as leader of this criminal group Radoje Zvicer, who is considered leader of the criminal clan “Kavac”, and Vaso Uliqi.
Among those on the run wanted by the police was Vuk Volevic, along with Radoje Switzerland.
Earlier, Volevic was charged with smuggling cocaine from Venezuela and the 2005 murder of police inspector Slavolub Korekiq, but he was acquitted of those charges.
Montenegrin police have earlier cited him as one of the persons suspected of killing the editor-in-chief of Dan newspaper Dusko Jovanovic, but no court procedure has been conducted against him in the case.
