According to him, such activities, especially when they are held near residential areas and include air capacities, directly affect the perception of security among local citizens, in particular among Albanians in the Presevo Valley.
“In the context of regional security, these developments can be interpreted as factors affecting rising tensions and reducing confidence among local actors. Given the importance of long-term stability in the Western Balkans, it remains essential to act on content and in line with co-operative security principles”, Kamberi stressed.
He has added that the role of the international community is key to encouraging constructive dialogue, transparency and avoidance of actions that could be perceived as provocative.
In his response, Kamberi has also called for increased KFOR presence, citing it as necessary to preserve a stable security environment.
The preservation of a stable and predictable security environment requires continued commitment to respect international norms and strengthening mechanisms for preventing crises. The extension of KFOR forces is of primary importance”, he has declared.
Furthermore, he has criticised Belgrade's policies, calling them provocative to Kosovo and Albanians in the Presevo Valley, while calling on NATO to consider the possibility of reviewing the Security Land Zone decision.
