At a media conference, the Albanian minister said Kosovo for Albania is not a protocol election, but a historic and political election.
The relationship between Albania and Kosovo is not a common chapter of diplomacy, it is the juncture of a common journey carved in sacrifice, in resistance and in historic determination for national progress”, she said before the media.
For Kosovo's war, Spiropali said the world saw a people who did not seek freedom, while for Independence Day, the minister said it was the day Kosovo won its country on the map of the world.
“Viti 2026 should be the moment of complete consolidation of its international subjectivity and of final closure of any uncertainty for her country in Europe”, the minister added.
Besides, Spiropali said strengthening Kosovo internationally is a success for Albania as well.
The European integration of Kosovo is the test of the European Union's own coherence with the values it represents, Kosovo has witnessed Euro-Atlantic clarity, commitment to reforms and institutional stability. Of course, lifting austerity measures was necessary, and I believe that now is the time to say it in full order that Kosovo deserves candidate status without double standards”, she said.
