During his speech at the American Congress Forum for Security, Peleshi named the region a sensitive geopolitical space towards hybrid threats and foreign interventions.
The Western Balkans remain sensitive in geopolitical terms, exposed to foreign efforts to undermine stability, weaken democratic institutions and destroy confidence in the Euro-Atlantic path. This reality requires watchfulness, endurance, and strategic clarity. Euro-Atlantic integrations and Kosovo membership in NATO are necessary for security and stability in the region”, he says.
“Security has cost and responsibility must be divided”! With this message, Chief Prime Minister Pelesi recalled the NATO Summit decision at The Hague on increasing defence investments, stressing that Albania is also taking such a step.
“This year we are investing 2.12% of Brto's domestic production in defence, with a sustainable growth trajectory in the coming years, to meet the agreed instructions”, it says further.
At the forum, attended by senators and congressmen, senior security representatives and senior American military personalities, Peleshi underlined that partnership Albania - The US is strategic, long-term and based on common democratic values, rule of law and respect for human rights. /Periscope
