Kurti after the memorials of the police on duty: Kosovo is safer than ever

The incumbent Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, said Kosovo is safer than ever and that security institutions have witnessed stability in the face of years of challenges.

He made these statements after the memorials of the police involved in the line of duty on the anniversary of the hero Enver Zymber's murder.

”Baska with the task of the president of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Albulen Haxhiu, today we set sail at Adem Demac's grave, the symbol of resistance, our Mandela and European Mandela, who spent 28 years in prisons of the former Yugoslavia and Serbia, and today we mark the eighth anniversary of the separation from life.

From there we came, to the memorial of the policemen who fell to the post, to honor them, along with Minister of Internal Affairs Jalal Svechla, Police Director Gazmend Hoxha, as well as other colleagues from the executive of the Republic and Kosovo Police.

Today coincided with the 15th anniversary of the assassination of Enver Zymber, who was carrying out the law of the Republic, was defending territorial integrity and guaranteeing security, peace and justice for all indiscriminately. However, the criminal hand of Serbia's structures shot dead upon it.

Since then, Enver Zymber is remembered as a Kosovo hero, as a hero of our citizenship and independence. He was implementing the law and, with his fall, inspired many Kosovo police officers, both those in office and others who later joined the police.

In addition to the assassination of Enver Zymber and Africa Bunnjak, Kosovo police experienced a serious blow even on November 5th, 2022, when around 550 Serbian community police were collectively withdrawn from the north of Ibri on Belgrade's orders.

However, their goal failed, as the multiethnic character of our Police was not destroyed and state sovereignty, territorial integrity and institutional stability were not violated, Kurti said.
