Inflation on the rise, experts seek urgent measures to alleviate crisis

Increasing inflation in Kosovo would have to be a signal for local officials to ease the economic crisis in the country. So economic experts say, reflecting that an economic destabilisation has recently been created throughout the country.
Kosovo citizens are facing high prices of basic food products. Citizens interviewed by Radio Kosovo complain of high prices of basic products.
The latest review report by the Kosovo Statistics Agency highlights a high inflation rate in Kosovo during the month of June, up 6.0 per cent.
Speaking to Radio Kosovo, the chairman of the Kosovo Business League, Besart Dreshey, says that “political perspectives are leaving no room for development of economic policies which would combat inflation”.
“The non-reformation of institutions has affected the country's economy, causing import from other countries to be high, and automation is impacting price increases”, says economy connoisseur Jakup Bellaqa.
However, experts estimate that if this situation continues this way, the difficult economic trend will be carried in the coming year.
