A historic precedent '% Melanie Trump to head the UN Security Council

The White House announced on Thursday that the United States' First Lady, Melanie Trump, will lead a Security Council meeting of the United Nations Organisation (OKB) on Monday, while the US takes over the monthly presidency of this council. At the meeting, Trump will emphasise the importance of education as a way to advance global tolerance and peace, its office said in a statement.
This will be the first time that a First Lady of the United States in office heads a session of this 15-member council, reports resorters.
The commitment of the First Lady comes at an extremely interesting political moment. US President Donald Trump was one of the most vocal critics of the United Nations Organisation (OKB) during his first term, often calling this global organisation 198 members <x1 non-effective> and demanding deep reforms.
However, Trump has recently softened his rhetoric. Last week, during the first meeting of the “Bord of Peace”, the initiative to resolve global conflicts that many world leaders view with scepticism, worrying that it was designed as UN replacement, the American president used many more compatible tones.
The Peace Board will practically oversee the UN and make sure it works properly. We will empower the UN. We will provide financial assistance and make sure their capacities are on the level, to make sure the UN is stable”, Trump said.
The decision, namely Melanie Trump, to open the American chairmanship of the Security Council, is seen by many analysts as part of a broader White House strategy to improve the American administration's damaged image at the UN and present the softer “diplomatic power” of the US on the global scene. /Periscope/
